Rhea Winters Budge died August 29, 1998 in Logan at the age of 89.

She was born Nov. 22, 1908 in Ogden, Utah to Oscar Lycortas Winters and Florence Ella Smith. She married Dr. O. Wendell Budge in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dr. Budge, who was a Cache Valley surgeon for nearly 50 years and chairman of the Budge Clinic, died in 1987.Rhea grew up in Garland, UT. She graduated from Bear River High School, where she was active in drama, debate and was a student body officer. She continued her education at the University of Utah and Utah State. She was a Chi Omega. She played the cello in the Utah Symphony Orchestra and in a quintet, which had a weekly program on KSL radio.

She studied ballet at the Pavley Dukrainski Ballet School in Chicago and dramatic art at the Boston College of Speech and Drama in Boston. She was member of the LDS Church and held several church positions in the ward and stake. She was a judge of the Utah State University Poetry Speaking Festival for several years. She was a member and past president of the AC Women's Club, a member of the Musical Arts Guild, Literary Study Club, Fine Arts Club and the Rotary Auxiliary.

Two sons and one daughter survive her: Wendell Winters Budge; Dr. Roger Budge and Julie Budge Litwiller. Another son, Wallace Budge, died earlier. She is also survived by her brother, N. Blaine Winters of Salt Lake City.

Rhea will be missed and remembered by many, including her nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at the Logan Cemetery.
