FARR WEST--William Richard Taft, 32, went home to his Father in Heaven on Friday, January 15, 1999, following a long battle with brain cancer.
Richard was born May 19, 1966 in Salt Lake City, to Seth William and Linda Lee Aaron Taft. He grew up in Kearns and graduated from Kearns High School in 1984. On June 22, 1989, Richard married Stephenie Bond. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 14, 1992.Richard loved motocross and was an avid racer. He also enjoyed the outdoors with his family and hunting with his son, Alex. He was a member of the 419th Air Force Reserves and served in Deseret Storm. Richard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Farr West 6th Ward.
Surviving are his wife, Stephenie; one son, Alex (six); and two daughters, Taryn (three), and Rylee (one), all of Farr West. Also surviving are his parents of Salt Lake City; two sisters and two brothers, Michelle (Kyle) Mansfield, Lapoint, Utah; Debbie (Mark) Powell, South Jordan; Scott and Robert Taft, both of Kearns; his mother- and father-in-law, Stephen and Mary Lynn Bond, Harrisville; his grandparents, Dorothy Price, Salt Lake City; Madge and Richard Ekker, Torrey, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 19th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Huntsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made at America First Credit Union to the Taft Family Trust Fund.
