NEW YORK -- Frances Godowsky, who tried out songs for her brothers George and Ira Gershwin before emerging as a respected painter in her own right, has died at age 92. She was the last of the Gershwin siblings.

Mrs. Godowsky was born on Manhattan's Lower East Side and began her artistic career as a child dancer.She is survived by a son, three daughters and eight grandchildren.
