Melvin Foster, age 85, died January 21, 1999 at his residence due to natural causes.
Born March 18, 1913 in Salt Lake City to Lorenzo and Annie Laurie Taylor Foster. He married Ida Flowers on February 22, 1943 in San Francisco, California. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service and served nine years in the U.S. Navy including during World War II.He is survived by spouse, Ida; son, John E. (Patti) Foster; grandchildren, Jason, Alex, and Cameron Foster; great-grandchild, Bronson Foster. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, John and Richard; sisters, Elsie, Thelma and twin sister, Mary.
Private family services will be held Saturday, January 23, 1999. Directors, Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
