Gladys Davies Herbert, 83, of Orem, formerly of Bountiful, passed away January 4, 1999.

She was born November 29, 1915 in Lake Point, Utah to Joseph and Rachel Moss Davies. She married Homer Herbert January 25, 1935 in the Mesa LDS Temple. She grew up in Lake Point and attended schools in Grantsville. She attended LA State University and graduated with a teaching degree. She later taught fifth grade in the Garden Grove school district and retired after 25 years of service. She moved to Bountiful five years ago with her husband Homer. She was an active member of the LDS Church and worked in the Los Angeles Temple for ten years. She was an accomplished artist and seamstress.She is survived by her husband, Homer of Orem; four children: Nancy (Lonnie) Kimball, St. George; Joseph Herbert, Sonora, California; Jim (Gayle) Herbert, Orem; Larry Herbert, Oakland, California; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Additional survivors include one sister and two brothers: Jean Herzog, Joseph Davies, and William Davies.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 1999 at 12 noon in the Bountiful Tabernacle, 55 South Main Bountiful, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Funeral services under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
