John Douglas Crossley died peacefully October 11, 1999 at the age of 81 at the Veteran's Hospital.
Born March 5, 1918 to W.W. and Jessie Robison Crossley in Blanco, Texas. After enlisting in the US Navy at the beginning of World War II, he met and married Helen M. Teel. Together they raised three children while in the US Navy for over 20 years. He joined the LDS Church in 1961 and always maintained a testimony throughout his many trials. Married Betty Beck September 19, 1977 and gained five more children.Survived by his wife, Betty; children, Mary (Paul) Christensen, Taylorsville; John Jr. (Nora Ann) Crossley, Kearns; Ray (Linda) Crossley, Buchanan, Georgia; Laura (Gary) Findley, Doug (Cathy) Beck, Steven (Josie) Beck, Donald Beck and Brenda Malmstrom, all of Utah; 29 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Dorothy) Walker, Washington; sisters, Beatrice Burrier and Muriel Wagner, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon at the Kearns 21st Ward, 4270 West 5700 South. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
