Gary Leroy Lees, 57, passed away peacefully on October 6, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born June 29, 1942 in Salt Lake City to Boyden L. Lees and Pearl "Peb" Lees. Married Lola Hazis on August 22, 1970. He was in the Army Reserves and a graduate of West High School.Gary enjoyed visiting family, friends and neighbors. A special joy in his life was his grandson Logan. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and had a real love for the mountains. Traveling was what he looked forward to, as well as air shows and oval track racing. He had a love for the automobile, for which he gave names of: "Old Blue", "Whitie" and "Big Red", of which he was very proud.

He was very much family oriented. He played an active role in caring for his parents for many years. Sons, Trevor and Stephen, cared deeply for their father and helped in his care.

Gary worked for Christensen Diamond for many years. Last employed by Salt Palace, when he became very ill. He was a very dedicated and hard-working employee.

He is survived by his wife, Lola; sons, Trevor (Tiffany) Lees, Stephen Lees and grandson, Logan; sisters, Penny Vogeler and Nancy (John) Yarman; as well as many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Preceded in death by parents.

The family would especially like to thank family, friends, neighbors, his doctors and nurses and Hospice of Utah, who supported us all.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 1999 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends may call on Saturday at the mortuary 11:45 to 12:45, prior to services. Funeral directors, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
