ROOSEVELT -- A Dec. 23 preliminary hearing date has been set for a former Roosevelt Scoutmaster accused of numerous counts of child sexual abuse and lewdness.
Salt Lake attorney Tom Rasmussen asked 8th District Court Judge Lynn Payne to continue the preliminary hearing for Myton resident Richard F. Fisco Sr., 65, which was originally scheduled for Nov. 12, because he hadn't received all the documentation from investigators.Rasmussen also asked that the court consider a possible bail reduction for his client. Fisco is being held in the Duchesne County jail on $500,000 bail. Uintah County Deputy Attorney Ken Wallentine, who is prosecuting the case at the request of Duchesne County Attorney Herb Gillespie, said he would meet with Rasmussen to discuss bail reduction but noted that he asked for a high bail in view of the seriousness of the charges.
He is charged with seven first-degree felony child sexual abuse counts -- including rape of a child -- and five misdemeanor counts of lewdness with a child.
