Question:Who played "Mr. & Mrs. North" on the TV series of the early 1960s. -- Wondering

Answer: Actually, "Mr. & Mrs. North" was on the air from 1952 to 1954, with Richard Denning and Barbara Britton as the sleuthing twosome. Denning, who later played "Hawaii Five-O's" Gov. Paul Jameson, died of a heart attack last year. The late Britton spent 10 years on "One Life to Live" as Fran Craig Gordon.

Question:The actor who plays the court assistant on the series "Judging Amy" is Richard T. Jones. What other TV series, television program or movie was he in? I've seen him in something else. -- A.C.B., Las Vegas, Nev.

Answer: Last year, Jones appeared in a couple of "Ally McBeal" episodes as Matt Griffin, Renee's old boyfriend. The actor has also co-starred in the 1997 TV series "Brooklyn South" and in the movies "Jury Duty" and "Event Horizon." Very early in his career, he played Ike Turner Jr. in "What's Love Got to Do With it." Now he's Bruce Van Exel on CBS' new drama "Judging Amy."

Question:I've followed Charles Shaughnessy from soap to prime time, and haven't seen him in anything since "The Nanny." What can I see him in next? -- L.C., Aloha, Ore.

Answer: Shaughnessy has finished filming "The New Adventures of Spin and Marty" for broadcast on "The Wonderful World of Disney" later this season. 7th Heaven's David Gallagher will play Marty, and Jeremy Foley ("Dante's Peak") is Spin in the two-hour update of the "Mickey Mouse Club" serial from the 1950s. Question: When I was a teenager, there was a miniseries called "Backstairs at the White House." It was the true story about a maid who works and lives in the White House throughout several decades. I thought this movie was really good but cannot seem to find it in video stores or online. I hope you can help me. -- P.G.K.

Answer: "Backstairs" was a nine-hour miniseries that premiered in January 1979 on NBC. It was based on the book by Lillian Rogers Parks and Frances Spatz Leighton.
