Calvin Glenn Hansen was born August 17, 1932 to Hyrum Hansen and Laura Cook Hansen in Spring Glen, Utah. He died December 25, 1999 at the age of 67.

Cal joined the Navy in 1950 at the age of 17. He served as a Teleman Seaman during the Korean War.After an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1953, he returned to Helper where he met and married Shirley Morley in 1954, divorced in 1986.

He was the father of five sons and the grandfather of six grandchildren.

Cal graduated from the College of Eastern Utah and Utah State University with a degree in psychology and secondary education. He began his teaching career at Helper Junior High School. He then moved to Assistant Principal at Vernal High School followed by Director of Pupil Personnel for Washington County and also acted as a Counselor at Grand County High School for several years. He was an active member of the LDS church, residing in the Provo Sixth Ward. While teaching he spent many summers as a Park Ranger at several national and state parks. He coached and participated in little league sports. He resided in Provo at the time of his death.

Cal enjoyed teaching, family vacations, reading philosophy/psychology material, horses, editing and saving family history records; movies tapes, picture and coaching his sons in little league sports.
