Asheville is a 31/2- to four-hour drive north-northeast of Atlanta. Take I-85 north to Greenville, U.S. 25 north to Flat Rock, N.C., then I-26 to Asheville. Or take the more scenic route -- I-85 north to I-985 to U.S. 23/441 to Dillsboro and east on U.S. 23/74 to I-40.
