Weber State football coach Jerry Graybeal needed a bit of everything as he approached his second year with the Wildcats.
That's pretty much what he got -- except for a few holes he still thinks he can plug."I thought our recruiting was successful when you look at the positions we needed to fill," Graybeal said. "We will continue to work on a couple of high school offensive linemen, as that is the one position we still need to recruit."
Perhaps the single recruit Graybeal is most giddy about is freshman tight end Josh Rebholz, from Scottsdale, Ariz.
Rebholz turned down offers from New Mexico and Memphis to play in Ogden. Graybeal said the 6-foot-6, 235-pounder has a chance to step right into the lineup and eventually be one of the best tight ends in Weber State history. That's quite a statement considering the Wildcats have produced All-Americans Cam Quayle and Al Papuno.
Weber State also landed a handful of Beehive State players. Shawn Kojima, an all-stater from Hillcrest, has agreed to play ball for the Wildcats. The 5-10 all-around athlete is slated for the secondary.
Granite's Anthony Parker will bring his big numbers to back up Morgan Welch and Derik Poole before fighting for playing time. Davis linebacker Dayne Faerber and Bonneville punter Joey Spendlove have also signed letters of intent.
Graybeal sought immediate help at quarterback and already has a pair of transfers on campus to challenge Chris Wallace for the starting job this fall. Dusty Harris has transferred from SDSU, and Cole Cooper, a backup for two years at Ricks JC, has also enrolled at WSU.
