The University of Phoenix has made a number of personnel changes. Jeffrey Haines has been named department chair/program manager for the education, counseling and general studies department. Art Waller has been named director of enrollment at the campus. Kim Johnson has been appointed manager of the downtown Salt Lake center of the school's campus and also will act as an academic counselor. Holly Christensen has been appointed project manager and faculty recruiter. Melanie Behunin has been named the department chair for business and information systems. Carrie Harris is the student resource coordinator for the campus. Larry Banks has joined the management team at the campus.Matthew Ownby has been hired as an information technology specialist at Christopherson Business Travel's office at 4659 S. 2300 East.

Bank One Utah has promoted Hope Hooton to assistant vice president in the private banking group. She will provide lending, depository, investment and trust management services to clients in this group.

Corey Laing is now operating the MAACO Auto Painting and Bodyworks center in Orem with his brother, Scott Laing.

The Wyndham Hotel has named Debra Brandsrud as its new general manager. She has 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

Michael Pazzi has been named chairman and CEO of Wells Fargo in Utah. He is responsible for Wells Fargo's 24 banking locations in the state that serve 100,000 customers.

First Security has made several personnel changes. Greg Mondon has been promoted to assistant relationship manager at the Ogden business financial center. Diana Andersen has joined First Security as vice president and manager of corporate benefits. Arthur Newell has been named manager of the central Utah business financial center, including offices in Utah, Juab and Sanpete counties.

Stan Penfold has been named acting executive director of the Utah AIDS Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing the spread of HIV and ensuring compassionate delivery of services to people affected by HIV/AIDS.

Two CIGNA HealthCare employees have earned new credentials. Lynette Hansen, quality manager, and Pamela Crocker, quality coordinator, have received the credential of Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality. People earn this through experience, education and high performance on a comprehensive test, and only 8,500 people have reached this career milestone.

NAI Utah Commercial Real Estate has hired Jim Sheldon as an industrial properties agent to provide brokerage services to several local and national businesses.

Mark Fischer, chairman and CEO of the Blakesee Group, a marketing communications agency headquartered in Maryland, has opened an office in Park City that he will head. The firm also has an office in New York City.

The law firm of Jones, Waldo, Holbrook & McDonough has hired Anthony Rampton. He has practiced law for more than 25 years with an emphasis on commercial litigation, government relations, eminent domain, public lands, water law, energy and environmental regulation.

Michael Stapley, president and CEO of Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators, has been appointed to a national advisory council by the U.S. Secretary of Labor. He will be serving a three- year, part-time term on the ERISA Advisory Council, which formerly was known as the Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans.
