The University of Utah Health Network has opened a new medical center in Layton at 1492 W. Antelope Drive.

The network currently cares for about 8,000 Davis County residents at the old Layton location. The new, larger building covers 15,000 square feet.Physicians at the new center include Dr. Jeff DeGraw, internal medicine; Dr. Daniel Schmidt, family practice; and Dr. Bill Whitaker, family practice; with certified physician assistants Helen Harper and James Fojtek. The vision clinic is led by Dr. Al Morgan.

The new center, which also has pharmacy, X-ray and lab services, employs about 60 people.
