HUNTINGTON--Lavell D. "Val" Fox, age 77, died March 28, 1999 in Provo after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 10, 1921 in Antelope, Idaho to Dewey and Twila McMurtry Fox. He married Wilda Walton,Dec. 1, 1972, later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.He came to Emery County as a civil superintendant with the power plant construction in 1972. His passion is his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his sweetheart, Marie. He loved the outdoors, especially his motorcycle rides on the desert, always exploring the mountains with fishing rod in hand and old mining camps where there's always a story to be told.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of Huntington; son, Dennis (Teri) Fox of Fruit Heights; daughters, Diane (Tim) Fowler of Ririe, Idaho; Cathy Mitchell of Delta; Laura Mikkelsen of Price and Jeannie (Dean) Bradley of Wellington. Also survived by brothers: Archie (Barbara) Fox of Nevada; Boyd (Pat) Fox of Pennsylvania and one sister, Connie (Jerry) Reed of Idaho; 18 grandchildren and seven and a half great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his infant sons, Ronald Jammie and Timmie; daughters, Patricia and Madeline; grandson, Kalvin and granddaughter, Jessie; his parents and brother, Guy.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 1, 1999 at 1 p.m. in the Huntington LDS Chapel, located at 115 So. 400 East. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and one hour prior to services at the Church. Burial will be in the Huntington Cemetery.
