LAYTON--Mildred Jorgensen Eckersley, age 86, passed away quietly on April 14, 1999 in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born July 18, 1912 in Hyrum, Utah. She was the oldest of 12 children of John W. and Nannie Jorgensen. She graduated from South Cache High School and attended Utah Agricultural College.She married Ronald G. Bowen on April 11, 1934 in Logan Temple. They had two children, Pat (Vern Carlsen) and Bob Bowen (Bonnie). They later divorced. She married Hyrum W. Eckersley on December 16, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple and were sealed later in the Ogden LDS Temple. He had four children, Janet (Bryant Adams), Dee (Donna), Ellen (Lou Khoury), Phil (Becky).

Mother loved to read and travel and get together with her family. She was an active member of the LDS Church all of her life, serving in organizations including Relief Society President and Stake Missionary in Denver, where she resided for 20 years. She made her home later in Salt Lake, Ogden, and Layton to be close to the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, a brother and a stepdaughter. She is survived by five children, 38 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.

We will miss her greatly.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 1999 at Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd with Bishop Roger Anderson officiating. Friends and family may call Friday 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, No. Ogden Cemetery.
