Joseph Krompel, age 74, passed away April 22, 1999 in Price after a long illness.

He was born July 27, 1924 in Sunnyside, Utah to Ludvik and Anna Kadunc Krompel. He married Loa Ann Huff September 30, 1944 at Castle Gate, Utah.Joe began his working career at the age of 16 in the coal mines of Carbon and Emery County. He continued his employment for 43 years and retired from U.S. Fuel Co, Hiawatha Local 6363 in 1980. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Army. He was a perfectionist. Farming was his lifetime love, and he took great pride in this work. He was a compassionate and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved helping others.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Loa Ann, and daughters; Lou Ann (Mike) Pecorelli of Orem, Ruth Udeen of Price, and Betty Jo (Jim) Hartley of Price; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by his mother, Anna Krompel of Price; sisters: Mary (Bill) German, Annie (Sterling) Wilson, Carolyn McCurdy; and brother, Bill (Leah) Krompel. He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Kent; his father; and one brother, Frank.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 26, 1999 at 1 p.m. in the Price Utah Stake Center, 500 East 100 South. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Cliffview Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
