Twenty-four of the state's business people have been named finalists for the 1999 Ernst & Young Utah Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

Winners in the awards program, founded in 1986 by professional services firm Ernst & Young, will be announced at a June 17 event in the Salt Palace Convention Center. The Deseret News is one of the local sponsors of the program.This year's regional finalists, as selected by an independent panel of judges, are:

Reservations for the June 17 banquet may be made by calling Ernst & Young at 240-3300 by June 10. Tickets are $95 per person or $760 for a table of eight.

Winners from the Salt Lake City region will be eligible to seek the national entrepreneur of the award, which will be presented during a international conference Nov. 11-14 in Palm Springs, Calif.
