SPANISH FORK -- American Heritage School will open a sister school in Spanish Fork.

The new K-8 private school, American Heritage School of Spanish Fork, is a separate nonprofit corporation, but its curriculum, mission and organization are modeled after the American Heritage School in Pleasant Grove. An orientation and information meeting about the new school will be held Wednesday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at 710 E. Center St., (Chillon Reception Center), where the school will be located.

"Part of the mission of our school is to teach academics from an LDS gospel perspective," says Susan Morris, board chairwoman. "This approach creates harmony among teachings at home, church and school."

The school plans to limit class size to 16 students, with two grades combined in each classroom. Kindergarten will be limited to eight students. Applications for students, as well as for teachers, are being accepted.

Monthly tuition will be $180 for kindergarten and $230 for grades 1-8. A half-day option ($130) will be offered, but preference will be given to full-time students.
