Eight new mission presidents have been called by the First Presidency. The mission presidents and their wives will begin their service about July 1. The new mission presidents and their assignments are:
Owen Dean Call, 65, Ecuador Quito Mission; Victorville 1st Ward, Victorville California Stake; temple ordinance worker and sealer, and stake missionary; former president of Guatemala City Temple and counselor in Chile Santiago Temple presidency, regional representative, stake president, stake executive secretary, stake mission president, bishop and counselor; retired school district assistant superintendent; received bachelor's and master's degrees from BYU, and attended the University of California-Riverside and California State University, Los Angeles; born in Colonia Dublan, Mexico, to Charles Heleman and Hannah Skousen Call; married Barbara Hulet, seven children. She is a temple ordinance worker and stake missionary; former temple matron and assistant matron, stake name extraction coordinator, ward Relief Society president, counselor in Young Women presidency, Relief Society lesson leader, and Primary and ward organist; attended BYU; born in Rexburg, Idaho, to Albert Franklin and Vida Hill Hulet.Alvin H. Price, 64, Russia Vladivostok Mission; Edgemont 8th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake; former country director for Latter-day Saints Charities in Russia, Church writing committee member, high councilor, stake missionary and stake mission secretary, bishop and counselor, branch president, Sunday School president and counselor, Sunday School teacher, missionary with his wife in Romania, and missionary in the Eastern States Mission; retired BYU professor; received bachelor's degree in family science from BYU, and master's degree and doctorate in child development from the University of Minnesota; born in Logan, Utah, to Harold Harmon and Hazel Ruth Sewell Price; married Barbara Wagstaff, five children. She is former country director for Latter-day Saint Charities, Church writing committee member, missionary with her husband in Romania, ward Relief Society president, Young Women president and counselor, Young Women and Sunday School teacher; received bachelor's degree in home economics education from Utah State University, and attended Kansas State University, BYU, and the University of Minnesota; born in American Fork, Utah, to Don and Ruth Broadbent Wagstaff.
Mark D. Ringger, 47, Brazil Rio De Janeiro Mission; North Field 6th Ward, Pleasant Grove Utah North Field Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former high councilor, bishop and counselor, Young Men president and adviser, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the Brazil Central Mission; director of research and evaluation for the Church Educational System; received bachelor's degree in history, master's degree in educational psychology, and doctorate in family studies, all from BYU; born in Provo, Utah, to Carl Walter and Elsie Graeser Ringger; married Jill Taylor, six children. Henry D. Taylor Jr., 68, Tennessee Nashville Mission; Palo Alto 2nd Ward, Menlo Park California Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former chairman of region Young Men/Young Women Council, counselor in stake presidency, high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop, Young Men president, Scoutmaster, elders quorum president, seminary teacher, missionary and district president in the Western Canadian Mission; director of telecommunications for Hewlett-Packard Co.; received bachelor's degree in business management and English from BYU, and master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School; born in Provo, Utah, to Henry Dixon and Alta Hansen Taylor; married Colette Green, nine children. Ruben D. Torres, 38, Mexico Guadalajara Mission; Alejandria Ward, Bogota Colombia El Dorado Stake; counselor in stake presidency; former counselor in stake presidency, high councilor, counselor in mission presidency, bishop, branch president, and missionary in Colombia Bogota Mission; Church Educational System country director; received administrative education degree from the University of San Buenaventura in Bogota, Colombia, and attended the University del Valle in Cali, Colombia; born in Cali, Colombia, to Jose Daniel and Maria Rubiela Rios Torres; married Maria Sanchez, four children. Philip C.
