Velmar Henry Kuethe, 70 of Salt Lake City, died May 9, 1999.
He was born June 14, 1928 in Bunker Hill, Illinois, to Henry and Louella Bertels Kuethe, who passed in his infancy. He was involved in the family farm with his father and step-mother, Clara Blom Kuethe, in Gillespie, Illinois until he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1946. His service time continued through the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he lived for extended periods in St. Louis, MO and Seattle, WA before moving to Salt Lake City in 1970, where he has since resided. Velmar was a life member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion.He is survived by a brother, Wayne of Cuba, MO; and a sister, Fernita and her husband Neil Neunaber of East, Alton, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road. Funeral Directors: Neil O'Donnell and Sons.
