Chiyoko Brown, 67, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on May 15, 1999, after a long illness.
She was born in Kobe, Japan, on November 3, 1931, the oldest daughter, of Sadatomo and Tei Watanabe. On March 19, 1958, she married the love of her life, George, and with him came to live in the United States. Chiyoko was the mother of two boys. She was so proud of them and their children they brought her so much joy. She became a citizen in February 1967.Chiyoko was a very kind, generous, caring person. Even at her weakest point she worried about everyone else. She was a very special lady. Everyone that knew her loved her. Chiyoko was very good with her hands crocheting, sewing, fishing, gardening and cooking. She was also a member of St. Marguerite's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, George J. Brown Sr.; one son, George J. (Beverly) Brown Jr., Tooele; one sister, Masako (Mike) Nelson, Tooele; one brother, Hiroshi Watanabe, Osaka, Japan; daughter-in-law, Annalene Brown; five grandsons, George, Phillip, Isaac and Christopher Brown, Nathan Casper; one grandaughter, Chanda Brown; one great-grandson, Joseph Donald Brown. Waiting for her on the other side are her parents, Sadatomo and Tei Watanabe; and her loving son Donald. Chiyoko we know now that you can breathe easy we want you to enjoy walking, running, dancing and fishing with the Angels. We Love You!!
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at 10 a.m. at St Marguerite's Church, 15 South 7th Street, in Tooele. Friends may call at the church Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the services. Burial in the Tooele City Cemetery.
