James Eldon Butterfield, 75, passed away May 17, 1999.

Born October 23, 1923 in Herriman, Utah to John Almond and Emma Jane Farmer Butterfield. Married Shirley Coats in the Salt Lake Temple on June 22, 1944. Eldon was a lifetime resident of Herriman, and spent his life as a Sheepman and farmer. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Shirley; four sons and their wives, Craig Eldon (Nadine); James Clay (Sharon); Jay Neldon (Kelly); Bret John (Lisa); 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne W. Butterfield; sister, Lucy Miller. Preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 21, 11 a.m., Herriman LDS Chapel, 35 East 100 North, Herriman. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Herriman Cemetery.
