Steven Paul Nyland, age 42, passed away May 26, 1999 in Bountiful, Utah.
Steven was born December 26, 1956 in San Mateo, California, to Robert and Rita Nyland. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1975. Steven married Tracy D. Holmes on February 11, 1986 at the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Steve was in the U.S. Navy for 9 years and loved the ocean. He never thought he would have the opportunity to travel again; but he was able to travel world wide with his employment at ENTEC where he was the Service Department Manager until his injury in Dec. 1997.Though Steve enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting, he truly loved working in the yard and doing gardening. He was a wonderful Husband and Father. His traveling kept him from spending as much time with his family as would have liked to. Steve was a reserved person until you got to know him and his wonderful sense of humor. He loved life and enjoyed serving others. Steve was a great listener and a friend to all. Steve served an L.D.S. Mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was very active in the church serving many callings.
Steve is survived by his wife, Tracy D. Nyland; daughters, Jessica (10), Brittany (4); sons, S. Kent (12) and Cameron (8). He is also survived by his parents, Robert and Rita of Ogden; brothers, Robert (Cheryle) of Calif., Tom (Annette) of Hooper; and grandparent, Erma Young of Ogden.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday June 2, 1999 11 a.m. at the Kearns Central Stake, 4575 West 5415 South, Kearns. Friends may call Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 So., West Valley City and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Kearns Central Stake. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Ogden, Utah. Funeral Directors: Valley View Funeral Home.
