Contractor and former legislative candidate Bryan Irving has been arrested and accused in an alleged scam in which First Security Bank lost more than $100,000.

Irving was arrested by FBI agents and Salt Lake County sheriff's officers Wednesday on five felony counts of theft, money laundering and forgery.Detectives said First Security was billed for work that was ostensibly being done on bank branches but actually was being done by Irving on the property of other co-defendants.

Co-defendants are Clement Jackson, a former vice president of First Security Bank, and Durrell Dibb, a First Security senior vice president now on paid administrative leave.

Investigators told KSTU they expect to make another arrest.

They said the investigation was under way last year at the same time Republican Irving, citing his belief in "traditional family values," was running for a House seat against Democrat Jackie Biskupski, the eventual winner.
