Born March 31, 1915, Cove, Cache County, Utah. Died Tuesday morning, May 4, 1999 at his home in Ashton, ID. Preceded in death by his wife, Florence Lee Pond, and five brothers.
Survived by second wife, Joy Burt Dixon Pond; his sister, Jennie Pond Reese, and six children, Dean Lee Pond of Missoula, MT; Edwin Jay Pond of Salt Lake City, UT; Dana J. Pond Williams (Mrs. Tom Williams) of Rexburg, ID; Stacey Pond Clayburn (Mrs. Laron Clayburn) of Rapid City, SD; Kirk H. Pond of Fort Collins, CO; Randy Lee Pond of West Jordan, UT; stepchildren, LaGrand Dixon of LaCenter, WA; Jewel Dixon Kather of Puyallup, WA; Ronald Dixon of Ashton, ID; Marcene Dixon Barker of St. Anthony, ID; 42 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.He taught school 40 years, was one of the original owners of Pond's Lodge in Island Park, ID and loved fishing. Active in the LDS Church, and served four missions (three with his wife, Florence).
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Ashton, Idaho 2nd Ward Chapel. Viewing will be 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bidwell Funeral Home in St. Anthony. Graveside service and Interment will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1700 East 10600 South, Sandy, in Salt Lake Valley.
