NORTH OGDEN--Genevieve Berrett Taylor, 78, died Thursday, May 6, 1999 at her home in North Ogden after a long, valiant battle with cancer.
She was born September 22, 1920 in North Ogden, a daughter of Edmund R. and Hannah Chasey Chugg Berrett. On March 1, 1946, she married LeRoy G. Taylor in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died November 7, 1977. She lived in North Ogden all her life. She graduated from Weber High School and LDS Seminary. She worked at Washburn Pharmacy for over 20 years. She was a member of the LDS Church Fruitland Ward. She served in many church positions including Primary president, teacher in Sunday School, Relief Society and Young Women. She also worked in the Extraction Program and as a visiting teacher. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Camp Old Ben. We will all be strengthened by her love of the gospel and her devotion to her family.Surviving are one son and three daughters, Richard LeRoy (Bonnie) Taylor, North Ogden; Patricia (Richard) McClure, Highland, Utah; Sheila (Rodney) Petersen, Riverton, Utah; Colleen (Jeffry Rick) Johnson, South Ogden; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, two sisters and two sisters-in-law, Elwood David (Marie) Berrett, North Ogden; Marjorie Brimhall, Salt Lake City; Eleanore May Bray, Salem, Oregon; Ella Marriott Berrett, North Ogden; Ruth Taylor Fink, Aramo, Idaho. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, three brothers, Cecil Edmund, Weldon Griffin and Lionel Chugg; two sisters, Bessie Hannah Cornelison and Elsie LaVon Berrett; one daughter-in-law, Wendy and one great-grandchild, Jordan.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Fruitland Ward Chapel, 2350 North Fruitland Drive, with Bishop Max Barker officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North 400 East, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the Ward Chapel from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Interment, North Ogden City Cemetery, 600 East 2850 North.
