Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Dewey Lamont Mangum, age 70, passed away June 11, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born December 2, 1928 in Groveland, Idaho, son of John Durward and Mary Hale Mangum. Married Renee Carter September 18, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. From that union came eight wonderful children.Dewey grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho where he graduated from high school and lettered in Baseball. He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served a mission from 1949-1951 to the Great Lakes. He later served in the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis as a Chaplains Assistant. Dewey retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1998 after 26 years of service. He loved horses and fishing, but was happiest when spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He spent his entire life putting others needs before his own.

Survived by his children: Naylene (Steve) Dalton, Moab; Kimly (Marsha) Mangum, Kaysville; Jeffry (Marilyn) Mangum, Sandy; Gregory Mangum, Charlotte, NC; Alan (Lisa) Mangum, West Jordan; Benjamin (Sheila) Mangum, Victorville, CA; Jeremy (Kamie) Mangum, Layton; Roxanne Mangum, Taylorsville; 26 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Margaret) Mangum, Fred (Edith) Mangum, both of Blackfoot, ID; sister, Norma (Fred) Zillig, Blackfoot, ID; brother-in-law, Lloyd Taylor. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert Mangum; sister, Melba Taylor; grandson, Brodie Mangum; granddaughter, Lori Dalton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Taylorsville City Cemetery.
