Dean Verholtz age 66, passed away June 10, 1999, surrounded by his loving family following a four month courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Born July 5, 1932 in Provo, Utah to Edward and Iona Barber Verholtz. Married Erika Wiessner, July 17, 1998 in Laughlin, Nevada. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked as an overhead crane operator for Eimco Steel Corp.He was a member of the LDS Church. He loved people and the outdoors. He was loved by everyone with whom he came in contact.Survivors: wife, Erika; nine children; three step-children; 23 grandchildren; mother; two sisters. Preceded in death by his son, Christopher; father; sister, Deon Verholtz; brother, Merlyn.
Funeral Services, Tuesday, 1 p.m., June 15, 1999 at the Millcreek 6th Ward, 602 East 3900 South. Friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. and Tuesday, 12-12:45 p.m. at the Church. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
