REDLANDS, CA--On June 21, 1999, our beloved patriarch, Robert Wilber Wells, 80, of Yucaipa, CA, passed away from complications following surgery for intestinal cancer.

Bob was born Feb. 10, 1919 in American Falls, Idaho to Frederick Wilbur Wells and Inez Budge. They moved to California, and there he later fell in love with and married Beulah Boggs in the Arizona Temple on Oct. 29, 1940. She died Aug. 26, 1984. He later fell in love again and married Velora Gough Stuart on Nov. 23, 1985 in the Provo Temple.Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a marksmanship instructor. After the war he was a credit union official, and later as a financier, Bob worked for the Knudsen Dairy Company in Los Angeles for many years in its tax department. He served in many capacities for the LDS Church, most notably as a bishop of the Mission Hills Ward in the San Fernando Valley, as a missionary with Velora to the Argentina Rosario and the Illinois Chicago Missions, and as a temple worker in the Los Angeles Temple for over 8 years. Bob was a Dodger fan, loved traveling and doing family history, and kept us all in touch with newsletters.

Grandpa's greatest treasure was his posterity. He and Beulah raised 11 children, and he basked in a quiver overflowing with 54 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by Velora and all of his children, Marilyn Hermansen (Port Moody, British Columbia), Robert (Simi Valley, CA), David (Henderson, NV), Stephen (Long Beach, CA), John (Las Vegas, NV), Andrew (Springfield, OR), Lawrence (Tooele, UT), Pamela VanBuskirk (West Jordan, UT), Linda Schofield (Livermore, CA), Susan Wilson (Evans, GA), Thomas (Litchfield Park, AZ), and two stepsons, Mark and Todd Stuart. He is also survived by his brother, Art Wells (El Cajon, CA).

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26, 1999 in the LDS church building, 306 E. Ave. L, Calimea, at 10 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, in Burbank, CA.
