After several years and much pain and suffering, our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in the arms of her loving daughter, July 13, 1999, at the age of 89.

Clara was born Sept. 2, 1909, in American Fork, Utah. She graduated from American Fork High School. She was born to Theodore and Mable Wadley Miller, (deceased) of American Fork. Mom married Frank K. Leavitt November 28, 1928, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dad preceded her in death on September 13, 1985. Mother loved their home at 1435 East Woodland Ave. Frank and Clara's home was always a haven for friends or relatives who needed a bed or a meal or any help.Clara loved her beautiful yard. It was her joy to garden and share any bounty she grew in her yard. She maintained her home and yard alone, and did so until the day of her fall, stroke, June, 1996.

Clara retired from Prudential Federal in l969, and also was a former employee of Federal Reserve Bank of Salt Lake City. She was a devoted employee for Dr. Paul S. Richards at Memorial Medical Center in Sugar House for many years.

Clara loved to sing and play cards. Her sweet voice was heard in the Wilford 1st Ward for 65 years. She was a faithful member of the ward and fulfilled all her teaching of the gospel. She sang for the Mormon Tabernacle Singing Mothers for many years.

Clara Leavitt loved her neighbors, they have all missed her presence for the last several years.

Preceded in death was Mom's sweetheart and "fishin' pal", Frank K. Leavitt and infant son; brothers, LeGrande, Elmo, Ray, Howard Miller; infant brothers, Alexander and Stanford. Survivors, brother, Richard Miller (Olivine), American Fork, Utah; son, Don F. Leavitt (Hendricka), West Jordan, Utah; daughter, Colleen Casper Harvey, Salt Lake City; loving grandchildren, Randy Casper (Chris), Park City; Kevin (LuAnn) Casper, Draper, Utah; Scott Leavitt (Janice), Salt Lake City; Tracy Henson (John), Sandy, Utah; Holly Draper (Don), Sandy, Utah, MaryAnn Robbinson Leavitt, Richard Robbinson Leavitt, Salt Lake City; 21 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the "Angels from Heaven at Highland Cove Care Center" for their love and caring for our mother during the last three difficult years.

Our mom will be missed a lot, but we are grateful her suffering and pain has ended.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 17th, 11 a.m., Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, where friends and family are invited to say goodbye one hour prior to the services. She will be laid to rest next to Frank at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
