Elna Wittwer Buehn, beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, peacefully departed this life from the Draper Rehabilitation and Care Center in Draper, Utah, on August 18, 1999, to join her Eternal Companion, Henry Erich Buehn, in the realms of Eternity.

She arrived in Hurricane, Washington Co., Utah, on January 17, 1920, to begin her life here on Earth. She was the only daughter of Joseph Wittwer and Mary Ellen Stucki and was the youngest child. She attended elementary school; grades 1-8, and high school in Hurricane, Utah, and completed one year of college at Utah State University.She married Henry Erich Buehn, September 25, 1940, in Hurricane, Utah, and their marriage was solemnized and sealed for Eternity in the St. George Temple, St. George, Washington Co., Utah, on June 13, 1941. An only child, their daughter, Ella Marie Buehn, was born to them on April 21, 1944, in Columbia, Missouri, and was their pride and joy.

She was an avid Homemaker and was known for her culinary talents and gardening. She, also, sold Studio Girl Cosmetics and worked as a Cook and Nurses Aide at the Crestwood Nursing Home for 19 years and sold ladies hose and mens hosiery at Utah Marketing Services for nine years.

Elna was known as a very kind, caring, compassionate person and for the purity of her life, virtuousness, and nobility. Her main goals in life were to be a magnificent Example of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Wife and Mother. She fulfilled these roles in a magnificent and noble way.

She served in her church callings as secretary of the Primary and MIA organizations, a Visiting Teacher, which she loved, a Visiting Teacher

Supervisor, a Primary and Nursery teacher, and librarian.

Her wisdom and advice were sought often by her friends and family. Her influence for Good was felt wherever she went. She will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her daughter, Ella Marie Buehn, Sandy, Utah; brother, Sylvan H. Wittwer, and his wife, Maurine, Logandale, Nevada; sister-in-law, La Vell Turner, wife to her deceased brother, Percy S. Wittwer, LaVerkin, Utah; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sandy Central Stake Chapel, 1050 East Galena Drive (9820 So.), Sandy, Utah. Friends and relatives may call, Sunday, August 22, 1999, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Monday at the church, 1-1:45 p.m. Interment and Graveside Services will be conducted Tuesday, August 24, 1999, at the Hurricane City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
