LAYTON--On Sunday, August 22, 1999, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Doris Marston Dawson, of Layton, Utah, peacefully passed away at the home of her daughter after a long and debilitating illness.

She was born on April 22, 1912, in Kaysville, Utah, a daughter of Carl Levi Marston and Laura Belle Young Marston. She married Harold J. Dawson on January 25, 1933, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She lived her life in Davis County, graduating from Davis High School. She loved to cook, quilt, crochet, garden, and be with her family and friends. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she dedicated her life to the LDS Church where she served in various callings, including Relief Society President, Stake and Ward Primary worker, and Mutual advisor. She worked in the Davis County School Lunch program for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Mark H. (Bernita) Dawson of Henderson, NV, and Lowell R. (Joyce) Dawson of Rock Springs, WY; three daughters, Karlene Greenwood of Layton, K. Joyce (Gary) Barker of Layton, Patsy (Del) Morris of Littleton, CO; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Dick Marston; two sisters, Viola Layton and Belle Clawson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, Keith.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to the aides, nurses, friends, and family who have assisted and been of service over her long years of illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 1999 at the Layton Oak Forest 1st Ward Chapel, 2250 East 2300 North. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, and from 12:45-1:45 p.m. at the ward prior to the services. Bishop William G. Van Dyke officiating. Interment at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
