Henry Yoshinaga Kasai Jr. passed away suddenly of a heart attack August 1, 1999.

He was born in Salt Lake City at the old St. Mark's Hospital, July 12, 1950. He graduated from West High School in 1968. After completing Carpenters Apprenticeship Program, he established C.Y. Contractors in 1980.He later left to "Rebuild Harlem" in New York City. His intentions were noble - but he returned home physically wrecked after 10 years.

"Yoshi" had an artistic side and dabbled in sculpture and art. He was a skilled carpenter and loved his work.

He is survived by his wife Linda Strobel of New York; his daughter, Kari Kasai; and granddaughter, Jenique of Salt Lake City; his mother, Alice F. Kasai; sister, Kimi Kasai; brother, Hershy (Sun Mi) of West Valley; sister, Emi Toland of cottonwood Cove NV; sisters Una (Jack) Nakamura and Lisa Kasai of San Jose, CA; many nieces and nephews. He is loved by his family and friends; he will be missed deeply.
