PROVO -- The Skyroom Restaurant at Brigham Young University received a first-place rating among specialty restaurants located on college campuses across North America.
The National Association of College & University Food Services recognized the fresh menu concepts, menu design and excellent service the Skyroom provides.The award was presented to BYU Dining Services at the July NACUFS National Conference in Baltimore, Maryland during the Loyal E. Horton Dining Award Luncheon.
"The staff of BYU dining is honored to be recognized as being amongst the best in the business," said Dean Wright, director of BYU Dining Services. "Collegiate dining is challenging, and to be recognized by one's peers with this high honor speaks well for the entire university."
The Loyal E. Horton Dining Award recognizes outstanding food service programs provided in a collegiate setting. A total of 158 dining programs were evaluated prior to the conference.
This is the second award BYU Dining Services has recently received. In 1997, NACUFS recognized BYU Dining Services for its role in the LDS Church Sesquicentennial Celebration on campus.
More than 600 schools across North America are active participants in the association.
