Getting there: Palmyra is 25 miles southeast of Rochester in upstate New York and 350 miles northwest of New York City. Route 21, which intersects the village, links up with the New York State Thruway, the state's main thoroughfare.
Rochester International Airport is served by US Airways, Continental Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines, Trans States Airlines, United Airlines and Air Ontario.

Weather: Average temperatures are 57 degrees in May, 70 degrees in July and 29 degrees in December, but temperatures sometimes soar into the 90s in midsummer and fall a few degrees below zero in the winter.
