What do you expect from a reporter like Bryant Gumbel in his reporting of Brigham Young University's Code of Honor in his report on HBO's "Real Sports," which aired Thursday, Sept. 16?

Gumbel had already shown BYU and the LDS faith what he thinks of them when they claimed the No. 1 spot in college football 10 years ago. He called them "Po Dunk University" and wiped his hand in the air as if it had no meaning. So when he glosses over the real reasons for the expulsion of Ronney Jenkins in his report on "Real Sports," we have to remember who is reporting and not take it to heart.

Gumbel only reports on what he feels.

Journalism is suppose to give us facts and tell us how things are, but most reporters know that we never get the full story, and we always get the slant of the reporter. If the reporter wants to do a story in the first place, the only reporting we will hear and read is what the reporter wants us to.

To Gumbel, reporting is like politics: Give the people only what you want them to hear!
