Our loving wife and mother, Margie Beckstead Terry, age 77, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2000, at the American Fork Hospital.
She was born November 2, 1922, in West Jordan, Utah, to Walter Edgar and Geneva Beckstead. In December of 1938, she was severely injured in a school bus-train accident in West Jordan, the injuries from which caused her increased pain and suffering for the rest of her life.She married her sweetheart, LaDell Ellis Terry of American Fork, on June 3, 1946, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and they were blessed with three adoring sons: Michael (Kathy) of Lindon, UT, Craig (Candy) of American Fork, and Paul (Ann) of Highland, UT. Marge touched the lives of many children as she worked as the secretary at Forbes Elementary and then at Barratt Elementary in American Fork for more than 30 years until she retired in 1988. She always loved working with the youth and children, having served in various positions in the Junior Sunday School, and Young Women's organizations in the LDS Church.
She is survived by her sweetheart of 53 years; three sons; sister, Olive Petersen, Midvale, UT; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held Wed., Jan. 19, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the American Fork 21st Ward, 270 No. 900 East, American Fork. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, and also from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel.
