CLEARFIELD-- Our precious angel, Kiara Emma Bird, returned to our Heavenly Father on January 25, 2000 at 11 a.m. She fought a valiant battle against leukemia and has returned home with honor.

Kiara was born to Jennifer Montano-Martinez and Travis Paul Bird on November 24, 1995 in Layton, Utah. Kiara loved beautiful things, she loved dresses, crowns, and diamonds. She loved to dance, sing, and pose for pictures. No matter how sick Kiara felt she always had a smile for the camera. Kiara loved Tana to paint and decorate her finger and toe nails, and loved to talk on the phone.Kiara loved babies, she always let us know when one of her dolls was crying, hungry, or sleeping. She loved being a big sister to her brother, Braxton. Kiara always had a way of making us smile. One day we overheard her singing to her brother, "And you're cuter than I thought you'd be", Kiara loved her family especially her grandparents. She was Grandpa Bird's "angel" and Grandpa Flint's "nanny" She was Grandma Bird's "delicious apple" and Grandma Flint's "honey bear". She will be missed by her parents, Jennifer and Travis most of all.

Kiara touched so many lives and will be missed by many. She is survived by her mother, Jennifer Montano-Martinez of Clearfield; father, Travis (Tana) Bird of Clinton; brother, Braxton Baty of Clearfield; grandparents, Richard and Diana Flint of West Point and Kay and Sharon Bird of Roy; aunts, Jana and Haylee; and uncles, Zan, Jerry, Joey, and Ben; great-grandparents, Gilbert (Lorna) Montano, Ed (Shirley) Thorsted. Kiara has many great aunts, uncles, cousins; a special friend, Colby Baty; and her pet turtle, Kelly. Kiara was preceded in death by great grandmas, Emma Thornton, and Marie Bird; and uncle, Kyle Twitchell.

Special thanks to Wee Care Pediatrics, Dr. Justin Alvey, and Janet Roybal, and Primary Children's Medical Center Med/Surg, and all the Hem/Onc staff, Davis Hospital, and Candlelighters.

Kiara's parents invite her friends and family to attend a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Funeral services will be held in private.

In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to the Kiara Bird Medical Trust at any first Security Bank.

My baby, until we meet again.
