PRICE~Rudolph "Rudy" Poglajen, age 76, died January 3, 2000 in Price, Utah.
He was born Sept. 29, 1923 in Sunnyside, Ut. to Frank and Katherine Delac Poglajen. Married Sophie Milovich, May 24, 1953 in Price, Utah. She died March 8, 1983. Member St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Price. Member Carbon Lodge #16 F.&A.M., Slovene National Benefit Society, SNPJ Lodge #689, and the Slovenian Home in Spring Glen. Member Price Elk's Lodge #1550. Served US Army during World War II in the 321st Infantry Wildcat Division. Member Price American Legion Post #3. Retired member U.M.W.A. Local #1206, US Steel Coal Cleaning Plant in Wellington where he retired in 1985. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and most of all he loved to polka. Rudy will be dearly missed by his loving family and a community of longtime friends.Survived by, his four daughters, Paula Poglajen, Salt Lake City; Millie and John Borla, Price; Terri and Lee Theobald, West Jordan; Ruby Jo Poglajen, Midvale; special friend, Ruth O'Neil, Price; two sisters and two brothers, William J. Poglajen, LaVay and Bob Reynolds, both of East Carbon; Zorie and Ralph Hufford, Salt Lake City; Carl and Jackie Poglajen, Billings, Montana; three grandchildren, Zachary and Jake Borla, and Tara Theobald and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Edward and Frank, sisters, Rose Bradley and Pauline Kennick.
Funeral services, Thursday, January 6, 2000, 11 a.m. Ascension St. Matthew's Church in Price. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. Committal service: Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Ascension St. Matthew's Building Fund, c/o 229 East 100 No., Price, Utah 84501.
