ELMO--<! > Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Sally Dawn Brinkerhoff Staker Atwood, 62, returned to her Heavenly Father Oct. 19, 2000 in Salt Lake City, UT following a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born Nov 28, 1937 to Jack Calvin and Iona Rebecca Jones Brinkerhoff in Hunt-ington, UT. She was raised in Huntington, UT and has been a homemaker and rancher for almost all of her life. She was a very devoted wife and mother, and also was a member of the LDS Church and served in many stake and ward positions. She married James M. Staker June 4, 1954 in the Manti LDS Temple. He passed away Feb 8, 1988. She later married M. James Atwood in the South Jordan LDS Temple Jan 7, 1989. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking, canning, sing-ing, and writing poetry. She enjoyed working the land and her greatest joy and love in life was found in her family. She was appointed in 1992 by President Clinton to serve on the Federal Farm Service Agency Committee.
She is survived by her husband, M. James Atwood, Elmo; children, Deborah (Dennis) Jones, Elmo, Allen (Connie) Staker, Hunt-ington, Sandy (Jim) Behling, Ferron, Shelly (Doug) Pottenger, Boise, ID, Kristi (Kirt) Rasmussen, Elmo, Claudia (Gale) Grange, Highland, Wendy (Terry) Gregson, West Jordan, Chris Ann (Todd) Pace, Leavenworth, KS, Kelly Barham, Cameron, NC, Natalie (Darrell) Gardner, Cleveland, UT; 38 grandchildren; nine great-grand-children; sister-in-law, Vicki (Jeff) Huntington, Taylorsville; brother-in-law, Bob Staker, Arkansas; and her mother-in-law, Rissa Staker, Taylorsville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack; and former husband, James Staker.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Elmo LDS Chapel Monday 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at the chapel Tuesday Oct. 24, 2000, 11
a.m. with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will follow in the Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary in Price.
