SPANISH FORK — The first project to go into the new Gateway industrial park held groundbreaking ceremonies recently.

The $10 million Provo Craft campus will bring into one facility a business that now is spread between four locations, said owner Robert Workman. A rags-to-riches craft supplies business, it started more than 20 years ago with just six people, he said. Today it employs more than 250. That could double with the new building, he said.

The structure will measure just under 200,000 square feet on property the width of two football fields in one direction and the length of four football fields in the other direction, noted developer Dan Gifford of Larkin Gifford Associates of St. George.

Construction will start Oct. 23. It could grow to 300,000 square feet, Gifford said. The campus includes a 1/3-acre picnic park for employees.

The Gateway project on North Main Street, just south of the Spanish Fork—Springville city limits, totals some 100 acres, Gifford said.
