VERNAL--<! > Archie Dee Jenkins, age 89, passed away November 8, 2000 at the Stewart Care Center in Roosevelt.

He was born Feb 16, 1911 in Roosevelt, UT a son of Samuel Archie and Tena Lucretia Mc-Curdy Jenkins. He married Clara Mur-ray Sept 28, 1931 in Vernal, UT. Their mar-riage was later sol-emnized Dec 7, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dee was a high priest in the LDS Church and had served in the Bishop-ric, Boy Scouts and as Sunday School superintendent. His life was farming and as a stockman. He served the public with the Water Development for 51 consecutive years and with Ashley Valley Reservoir Company Board of Directors where he was president for 37 years, Upper Canal Board, 15 years. Dee was a Charter member of the Vernal Chamber of Commerce. He served as a director for Federal Land Bank, 14 years. Active in 4H and Jr. Livestock where he enjoyed working with the youth and their animals. Dee was one of Vernal's Legacy Cowboys. He ran cattle on Taylor Mountain most all his life. Dee loved hunting, boxing, horses and taking his boys to the High Uintahs.

He is survived by his wife, Clara, Vernal; children, Estella (Lorn) Richens, Vernal, Karl Dee (Jacquline) Jenkins, Longview, TX, Elaine (Ted) Corless, Vernal, Cody (Gail) Jenkins, Vernal; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grand-children; and one great great-grandchild.

Services will be held Monday Nov 13, 2000, 11 a.m. at the Maeser 4th LDS Ward Chapel (2575 N. 1500 W). Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial, Vernal Memorial Park. Under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary (435/789-2611).
