LAYTON<! > --Our beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Helen June Howard Christensen, 74, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 26, 2000 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family who loves her dearly.
She was born June 21, 1926 in Woods Cross, UT, a daughter of Amasa R. and Robena Ellis Howard.
On December 7, 1945, Helen married Elmo Rex Christensen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was reared in Woods Cross, graduating from Davis High School. After her marriage, she has lived in Kennelworth, North Salt Lake, Clearfield, Tremonton, Brigham City, and Layton and as a St. George Snowbird.
Helen was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Stake/Ward Young Women's presidencies. She was a Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, and Sunday school teacher. She was a Relief Society chorister. She served on an LDS Mission to the Washington, D.C. Visitors Center with her husband. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden and St. George temples.
Helen dearly loved her family and will truly be missed by those who love her.
She is survived by her husband, four sons and one daughter. Craig R. (Judy) Christensen, Bountiful; Mark E. Christensen, Layton; Colleen C.(Ray) Limb, Gunnison; the late Von H. (Irene) Christensen, Sandy; Bert C. Christensen, American Fork; Bart C. (Colleen) Christensen, West Jordan; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Helen is also survived by four sisters, Orlean H. Clarkson, Bountiful; Leah H. Tippits, North Salt Lake; Peggy H. Stanbridge, Centerville; La Rae H. Dillingham North Salt Lake.
She was preceded in death by her son, Von H. Christensen; granddaughter, Julie Marie Christensen; her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Lincoln Ward Chapel 590 W. 2000 N., Layton, Thurs-day Nov. 30, 2000-at 11 a.m. Friends may call Wed. from 6-8 p.m. at the Myers Mor-tuary 250 North Fairfield, Layton and at the church Thurs. 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful, Utah.
