Lou "The Toe" Groza, the Hall of Fame place-kicker and offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns teams that dominated pro football in the 1950s, died Wednesday night at a hospital in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. He was 76.

He apparently suffered a heart attack, the Associated Press reported.

Wearing black, high-top cleats and using the straight-ahead kicking style, Groza kicked 263 field goals for the Browns, playing from 1946 to 1967.
