Helen C. Booth, 82, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

Helen was born December 3, 1917 in Blackfoot, Idaho, a daughter of Wilford and Edna M. Luddington Chap-man.

On July 13, 1942, Helen married Max R. Booth in Salt Lake City. Max died April 12, 1977. She was reared and educated in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School.

Helen was a longtime member of the Ogden 41st LDS Ward. She had served in many capacities including ward Relief Society and Primary president, also as stake Primary president and chorister. Helen fulfilled a lifelong dream serving a mission to the Washington D.C. Temple from October of 1986 to April of 1988. Helen enjoyed gardening, singing, sewing and knitting. She also enjoyed being with her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Surviving are one son and two daughters, Marvin (Carole) Booth, Midvale; Janice (Michael) Lamb, Bountiful; Barbara (John) Carper, Highpoint, North Carolina; one son-in-law, David Nelson, Salt Lake; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by one brother and two sisters, Harry (Betty) Whitney, Mildred Taylor, Ruth (Carl) Peterson, and her sister-in-law, Betty Booth, all of Ogden. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her step-father, Harry Whitney, who raised her; one daughter Sallie E. Nelson, and one great-grandson, Michael Robinson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Ogden 41st Ward Chapel, 3254 Polk Ave. Friends may call at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the Ward Chapel from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Primary Children's Medical Center.
