Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep December 17, 2000 from congestive heart failure.
Born in Circleville, Utah on September 29, 1915 to Annie Stoker Lewis shortly after the death of his father Thomas Lewis. Proud of his Pioneer and Mormon Heritage, he was the great-great grandchild of Tarlton Lewis, the first LDS Bishop in Salt Lake Valley. At two years of age, his mother remarried Mikel Levi Jensen who raised him and his sister as his own in Richfield, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Bernez Hunt on September 21, 1935, later solemnized in the LDS Temple. they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with close family members. He served in the Army during World War II that took him to Occupied Japan where he saw first hand the destruction of Atomic Warfare. He worked hard to care for his family as an auto mechanic until his retirement. There wasn't a family member, friend or neighbor he would not help if they had a problem.
His great love for horses rubbed off on many family members and friends. His
undying love for his family will always be a comfort to us.
He is survived by his wife Bernez, daughters: Analee (DeeLynn) Apgood, Shirley (Robert) McLaughlin, Trudy (David) Bush, Bardee (Jack) Mills, Tomi (Rick) Hamblin, ten grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild with two expected next year. What a joyous reunion with those who preceded him in death: his mother, father, stepfather, baby daughter Dorothy Dell, a special grandson Allan Apgood and a sister Elba Lewis Hunt.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2000, 12 p.m. at the Rosedale Ward, 500 North 1100 West. Friends may call Wednesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Rd., and one hour prior to services at the ward.
