Romanian Alexandra Nechita began drawing at the age of 2. At 7, she went from coloring books to canvases, and at 8, she held her first one-woman (child) exhibition at the Los Angeles Public Library.

Nechita's paintings, cubist in style, are on display at the Gallery at Park City, 875 Main, through Jan. 6. The artist will be in the gallery Friday, Dec. 29, and Saturday, Dec. 30, from 6-9 p.m. to sign prints of her paintings.

On Sunday, Nechita will meet with local children to discuss art, its importance and how to use certain art materials.

"Painting is for me the same as breathing," Nechita has said. "I imagine the things I see, and then I re-imagine them."
