LACEY, WASHINGTON -Sheela Baldree Brinkman passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2000, one week before her 32nd birthday. She fought a valiant four-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer.

She was born February 13, 1968 to Bobby H. and Marlene Yates Baldree of Centerville, Utah. She attended public schools in Centerville, where she graduated from Viewmont High School in 1986. She was active in choral groups and Madrigals. She attended Weber State University and worked as a phlebotomist at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.On May 13, 1988, Sheela married Tyler Charles Brinkman in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; truly "a match made in heaven". After their marriage, they resided in Orem, Utah, where Sheela worked at Orem Community Hospital. They moved to Kent, Washington in May, 1992 and then to Lacey, Washington in June, 1995. Sheela worked for Valley Medical Center as an executive secretary until fall of 1996, when her health no longer allowed her to continue. Sheela was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Young Women, Primary and Relief Society auxiliaries. She was an amazing example to everyone with her undaunted optimism, courage, and determination. She had great faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Her spiritual strength helped all of us to sustain the heartbreak of this great trial.

We miss you, Sheela! We will always remember your glowing smile, shiny copper-colored hair, cute giggle, and quick wit.

Sheela's awesome husband, Tyler, has been a loving companion and caregiver. He will always revere her as "the choice of my heart; wife of my youth." Other survivors include her parents, Bobby and Marlene Baldree; six brothers and sisters, Shari Baldree, Rory Baldree, Troy Baldree (Peggy), Sharla Johnson (Steve), Zane Baldree (Kelly), and Preston Baldree (Emily). She is also survived by her parents-in-law, Ron and Diane Hoffman, and Charles and Carol Brinkman; brother-in-law, Erik (Heidi) Brinkman; 12 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph Timothy and Nancy Baldree, and LaRue and Frewtrilla Yates.

Heartfelt thanks to Sheela's parents, Bobby and Marlene, who also have been loving caregivers to their daughter for the past year.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2000 at the Centerville Utah South Stake Center, 270 North 300 East. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and again Tuesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment- Centerville City Cemetery.

Donations in Sheela's name will be accepted by the American Cancer Society.
