Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Harold LeRoy Earl, 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on February 20, 2000.He was born January 11, 1919 in South Weber, Utah, son of Clarence Charles and Alice Myrtle Kendell Earl. Married Juliette McEchern October 26, 1945; later divorced. Married Norma Bawden Rushton August 30, 1968 in Hunter, Utah. Harold graduated from Davis High School and Weber Junior College. He was the catcher on the Ogden Oaks semi-pro baseball team and was a catcher at the Babe Ruth Exhibition Game where he caught for Babe Ruth himself, which was a big thrill for him. He attended BYU until World War II was declared. He was drafted into the army and served his country with the 760th Tank Battalion in North Africa and Italy during World War II. He worked at the Navy Base and Hill Air Force Base for 34 years, retiring in 1980. He was a dairy

farmer in South Weber and Porterville, Utah where he raised registered Guernsey cows. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a home teacher and High Priest. He loved baseball, golfing, bowling, dancing, traveling, gardening and always generously gave away produce from his beautiful garden.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Brenda (Jack) Lynn, Florida; Scott Earl, Mt. View, Wyoming; Barclay (Denise) Earl, Porterville; Marsha (Dan) Rowser, Morgan; step-children, Steve Rushton (Barbara Thomas), Debbie (Russ) Dangerfield, both of West Valley City; Brett (Virginia) Rushton, Washington, Utah; Jill (Richard) Hoth, Providence, Utah; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grand-

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at Hunter 18th Ward, 3737 South 5600 West, West Valley City. Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park, 3 p.m., 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
